Low-Float Momentum Scanner
(Sub-30M Float)

Most low-float setups should be ignored.

This workflow uses 3 gates to narrow the field to setups showing structure, participation, and momentum.

167 historical setups reviewed 27% expanded ≥20% No cherry-picking. Stronger and weaker outcomes included.

Here’s the filter.

Step 1 of 2

Step 1: The 3 Gates

If one breaks, the setup is removed from scan view. Most names fail here. That is the point.

01 Structure
Are we uptrending?
To catch an uptrend, you need to be in an uptrend.
5m / 15m / 60m above 200 SMA.
02 Participation
Is there real demand behind the move?
Filters weak, low-commitment moves.
30% float turnover + 5m volume spike.
03 Ignition
Is momentum actually there right now?
Momentum must be present, not assumed.
5m RSI ≥ 50 and 15m RSI ≥ 70.

Historical Review Snapshot

Most qualified setups still do not become exceptional outcomes. That is the distribution.

167 qualified setups:
(Feb–Mar 2026)
27% Expanded ≥20%
73% Failed to reach ≥20%
Median stronger outcome:
+43%
Largest expansion recorded: +233%
Average qualified setups per day
5
Not hundreds. About five.

Historical recap snapshot shown for educational review only. Outcomes varied widely, and many qualified setups did not follow through.

Why this matters

The goal is not to catch every stock that moves. The goal is to cut the field down before weak setups waste your attention.

  • Cut the list down fast.
  • Focus on setups with cleaner alignment.
  • Spend less time sorting.
  • Spend more time verifying.

The edge is not watching everything. The edge is narrowing the field first.

How it looks in practice

The 3 gates qualify the setup. They do not guarantee the outcome. That is why the workflow does not stop at the chart.

The scan narrows the field to only the stocks meeting all 3 gates. It does not replace judgment.

Most traders stop at the chart.

Always check for underbelly risk before executing any trade.

Step 2 of 2

Step 2: Rapid DD

A setup can pass the 3 gates and still be garbage underneath.

Rapid DD is the fast risk check built to catch what the chart does not.

  • Dilution
  • Offerings
  • Cash problems
  • Compliance issues
  • News risk
  • Halt risk

That is what turns good-looking momentum into garbage fast.

The 3 gates qualify the setup. Rapid DD checks the hidden risk before you commit capital.

Less guessing. Faster disqualification.

What this is not

• Chat room
• Signal service
• Highlight reel of only big winners

The point is to track the pattern honestly — including stronger outcomes, weaker follow-through, and failure.

Before you start

Do I need a Trade Ideas subscription?

Yes — if you want to use the scanner inside Trade Ideas.

The tools, framework, examples, and recap materials can be accessed without one. The scanner itself is used within the Trade Ideas platform.

Is this a chat alert service?

No.

The scanner runs inside Trade Ideas and applies the 3-gate framework in-platform.

Do setups get removed?

Yes.

If a setup fails any one of the 3 gates, it is removed from the scan view. That’s the protection.

Why show both stronger examples and weaker ones?

Because the point is not to pretend every qualified chart becomes a home run. The point is to show the pattern honestly and help you focus on setups that deserve deeper review.

Transparent by design.

Built for traders who want to filter first, verify second, and waste less time on weak names.
